Meet Your Coach
I have been teaching Face-Up First swimming lessons with Jeanie Neal as an independent contractor for 12 years. I have always had a natural curiosity for childhood development as well as an intuitive, nurturing understanding of the young mind. I received my BA of Science in Education from Wayne State College in 2012 where I also played four years of volleyball. Through college athletics, college education classes and volunteer work, I was given the opportunity to work with children of all ages (Pre-K though age 12) as well as a variety of different behaviors and learning styles. Post college, I worked as an assistant Kindergarten teacher, after-school care provider, substitute teacher, assistant director of aquatics and swimming lesson coach. In 2017, Jeanie Neal asked me to partner with her and teach Face-up First swimming lessons full time.
The gratitude I have to be able to teach Jeanie Neal’s Face-Up First curriculum is immense. Not only is the goal of water safety and gaining confidence in the water repeatedly achieved, but swimmers are able to learn the knowledge of safe and fast swimming on a technical level. As a coach, a teacher and community member, I want to foster an environment for our children to feel the power of inner work as well as an outer network of support. Perseverance as way to gain physical and mental strength and of course, encourage a love for this sport.
I am excited to work with your swimmer! Please use my contact below for questions, comments or exciting news.
If there is magic on this planet, it is contained in water. - Loren Eiseley
